Product Preview: Race Face Flank Leg Guards

I love what I do with The Mountain Bike Life. Not only do I get to share my passion with people but I also get to try out new products. If you have been following my writing over the years, you know that I am a bit of a gear whore, so you can imagine how stoked I am that Race Face sent me a new set of Flank leg guards so I could compare them to the old ones that I have run for the past few years.

In the name of transparency I would like to let you know that I am not getting paid for this review but they did send me the guards at no cost. I will do my best to offer you a honest and unbiased review.

My initial thoughts on the new Flanks are very positive. The main advantage these have over their older counterparts is that you do not have to take off your shoes to put them on. This is huge for anyone who prefers to ride up with them in your pack and then pop them on easily at the top.

It also feels like they have changed up the D3O knee cups a bit to offer a bit more protection and comfort. I have only been able to get out in one ride with them so far and I found them to be very comfortable, and feel like they disappear when riding because of that comfort.

I love what I see and feel so far. I really liked the the old Race Face Flanks, and it looks like they just made the new ones even better. In the next few months I will be riding them hard and report back to the TMTBL readers when I have thoroughly tested them.
