JVC ADIXXION Camera: Preview

Recently I was gifted the JVC GC-XA1 ADIXXION Action Camera.  For a popular frame of reference, it’s very similar to the GoPro.  I’ve only been able to test it on one ride, which was actually the stickiest mud I’ve ever had the displeasure of trudging through.  So, my video is more a testament to video quality than longtime durability or varied features.  Check out the video and watch for flying specks of mud throughout!

The specs:

  • Waterproof, shockproof, dustproof, freezeproof
  • LCD screen
  • Wi-Fi
  • 5 mp
  • Image stabilization
  • 5x digital zoom
  • 1920 x 1080 HD video

I only tested a mount that could be easily strapped to the handlebars or stem. It was a pinch to take on and off, but if it wasn’t on as tight as possible, it did tend to fall to the side after bumpy sections.

I’ve yet to test the helmet mount, which I’m sure is much more stable. All of the mounts and different parts were extremely easy to work with, and the handlebar mount is more of an adjustable bracelet and could hypothetically be easily mounted to just about any piece of tubing.

For more information on the camera check out the JVC website.

More on this camera in the coming weeks!
